Jason Cohen

Co-Founder & CEO

In 1999, Jason co-founded Mamma Says Biscotti, scaling the brand through a strategic partnership with Kellogg’s before transitioning the business to Wind Point Partners six years later. Building on this success, Jason launched Sensible Portions® Veggie Straws, which quickly became America’s favorite and top-selling puff snack. In 2010, Sensible Portions® joined the Hain Celestial Group’s portfolio.

Continuing his entrepreneurial journey, Jason co-created Mrs. Thinster’s™ Cookies and served as a board member for That’s How We Roll, a better-for-you snacking platform featuring ParmCrisps® and Thinsters™. From 2016 to 2021, he co-founded and served as co-CEO of Halen Brands, an incubator platform that successfully scaled and transitioned several high-growth brands, including CORE® Water (acquired by Keurig Dr Pepper), Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Co™ (acquired by Sonoma Brands), From the Ground Up® (acquired by Our Home), and OWYN™ (integrated into United Brands™). In 2021, That’s How We Roll became part of the Hain Celestial family.

Jason also played a pivotal role in the meteoric rise of SKINNYPOP® Popcorn, joining as a strategic partner in 2013. The brand ultimately became a cornerstone of Hershey’s snacking portfolio in a $1.6 billion transaction. Additionally, he has been a key investor in a range of disruptive brands, including Hint® Water, Casa Azul Spirits, ZENWTR, Lemon Perfect®, and BloxSnacks, and serves as a board member and significant owner of GORGIE™.

Beyond his work in the snack industry, Jason serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Maryland and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Clinic. In 2019, his family trust established a grant for the University of Miami Concussion Center.

Today, Jason serves as the Chairman and Co-Founder of 7 Mile Brands, which owns PRETZELIZED™ and holds a strategic investment in Drumroll®.
